Atompunk Landscape
Step into the shoes of a game concept designer and build a dramatic, post-apocalyptic world from scratch.
Over two 3-hour sessions, you will construct a rugged, atompunk landscape that captures the raw atmosphere of a sci-fi wasteland. This workshop focuses on impact and contrast, teaching you how to use dynamic concept art techniques to bring a harsh, ruined environment to life on canvas.
The Workshop Flow
To achieve maximum visual impact, we will work with a mix of media and techniques.
In Session One, you will build the foundation of your world of doom sky and textured terrain using fast-drying acrylics, with both brushwork and palette knife.
In Session Two, you will switch to professional oils to focus on the sky. You’ll learn classical layering and blending techniques to create a massive, high-contrast smoke cloud, as well as striking highlights for the final dramatic impact.
Drying Time
As the workshop is using mixed media and layers to get the right industrial grit, the painting will require time to fully cure. Your finished work will stay at our studio to dry safely, and you can collect your finished concept piece about a week later after the final session. You absolutely may take the painting home immediately, however we advise to be very cautious as the finishing layer will be still wet.
