Sonny Angel: Sunny Days

In a world captivated by collectibles and designer toys, Sonny Angel has become a modern symbol of joy, nostalgia, and playfulness. In this 2-session workshop, you’ll transform this beloved character into a polished oil painting while exploring the foundations of portraiture, realism, and form.

More than simply painting a toy, you’ll discover how artists create believable three-dimensional subjects through observation, light, shadow, colour temperature, and subtle transitions. From expressive eyes and delicate skin tones to glossy reflections and cast shadows, learn how portraiture principles can bring even the simplest subject to life.

As a special treat, each participant will receive a surprise Sonny Angel blind box to accompany the experience.

The Workshop Flow

Over two sessions, you’ll build your painting step by step, learning how to create convincing form, realistic skin tones, and smooth transitions that give your subject depth and presence.

You’ll also explore techniques for rendering glossy surfaces, understanding light behaviour, and creating the subtle highlights and reflections that make this charming character feel almost touchable.

Drying Time

As this workshop uses oil paints, your artwork will require time to fully cure. You may choose to leave your painting safely at our studio for approximately one week after the final session before collection, or take it home with you on the day of the workshop.
